Monroe Public Schools - $1,000.00 Sign-On Bonus*
*First $500 payout after becoming fully-certified, second $500 payment after completing six months of service 

METS - Michigan Educational Transportation Services is hiring school bus drivers and new trainees for assignment at Monroe Public Schools. No experience is necessary. Paid training is provided for qualified candidates who enjoy working with children, have a safe driving record, and are able to pass DOT physical and drug testing requirements. Work in the community you live in, with a work calendar that matches your child's school calendar. Competitive wages ($18.00 for substitutes, $20.00 to $21.00 daily route drivers, with room for advancement), paid holidays, paid personal days, attendance incentives, and 401k retirement savings options are available!

Board Applicants Sought

October 26, 2022

Rosalie Pasko announced her resignation from the Monroe Public Schools Board of Education on November 24.  Pasko was first elected to the Board in November, 2016, and has served the past two years as Board Secretary.     

To fill the vacancy, the Board is accepting applications from district residents.  Those wishing to be considered are asked to submit a letter of interest, with reasons why they want to serve on the Board, and a biography and/or resume to salzmann@monroe.k12.mi.us or to: Office of the Board of Education c/o Monroe Public Schools, 1275 N. Macomb St., Monroe, MI 48162.  Letters must be received by 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2022.

Applicants must be registered voters residing in the Monroe Public School District.  This is a temporary appointment that expires when the November 2024 elections are certified.  The appointee is free to file a petition to run in the November 2024 election for one of the positions that will be open.

A decision on the Board appointment will be made before November 22, 2022.   Questions should be directed to the Superintendent’s Office at (734) 265-3000.

Job Fair - August 10

July 30, 2022

Monroe Public Schools will hold a Job Fair on Wednesday, August 10, 2:30-6 p.m. in the Monroe Middle School Cafeteria, 503 Washington St., Monroe, Michigan.  Those attending are asked to enter through Door J or H.  Representatives from Monroe Public Schools and its partners will participate in recruiting for the following positions:  SODEXO — Food Services; METS — Transportation; EduStaff — Substitute Teachers; HES Facilities Management — Custodial; MPS Human Resources Office — Assistants (Instructional, Lunch, Bus), Maintenance, Positive School Climate Liaisons, Student Service Providers, Child Caregivers, Health Liaison, and Teachers (Elementary, Special Education, STEAM, Secondary Marth, and Speech).

Summer Meals - EXTENDED

July 24, 2022

Summer Meals have been extended through August 18th at six sites!  Effective July 25, 22, breakfast and lunch will be distributed from 10:30 am - 1 pm.  Please see the updated schedule for current sites and dates.  Children will receive BONUS MEALS on Thursdays to take home for the weekend!  As always, all meals are FREE for anyone 18 and under.

ESSER Fund Survey

Monroe Public Schools is seeking feedback from all district and community stakeholders to help determine how the district should best utilize Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Funds (ESSER) to address learning gaps, ongoing COVID-19 recovery, and Federal Program grant funds.
