I am so happy to be your teacher again this year!  Can you believe that we will have another 180 days this year to learn and grow together?  I can't wait!  I know you already know me quite well but just in case you forgot, here it is...

This will be my 9th year teaching at Custer Elementary.  Throughout those years, Custer has quickly become part of my family as I hope it has for you too.  I spent my first four years teaching fourth grade, then fifth for three years.  Last year I moved down to fourth and was given the opportunity to loop our class up, how exciting!!

I earned my Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan (GO BLUE) and my Master's degree from Eastern Michigan.  I followed my passion for mathematics and science by majoring in both areas. Teaching is the only profession I have ever dreamed of having and I feel grateful every day to have the opportunity to work with you. 

My family is very important to me.  My husband, Ryan, and I have a two year old son named Jack, he keeps us VERY busy.  As many of you may know, once you turn two, you want to do EVERYTHING by yourself!  Jack is now in charge of loading the dishwasher, turning on & off every light in the house, reading his own books and  feeding our cat, Hunter (a.k.a Kitty).  When Jack isn't busy being "Mr. Independent", he spends his time singing The Wheels on the Bus, fixing things with his tools and counting.  Currently he can count up to 13 and then it is 14, 14, 14, 14...we are working on the teens.

If I am not at work or chasing Jack, you may find me at a U of M football game, catching a Tigers game or playing softball.  I love sports!  I also love to curl up with a good book and to travel.  But enough about me, how was your summer?  What is going on in your lives?  I hope you are ready to share your stories with your classmates and me, see you soon!
