Mission Statement
The mission of the Monroe Public Schools is to provide the resources and leadership required to guarantee equal educational opportunities in a safe, orderly, positive, and well- maintained environment; to provide learning experiences from which learners can develop talents, skills, and understanding needed for them to become contributing, responsible citizens in a democratic society and global economy, and to provide means of continually assessing its effectiveness in attaining its goals.
WE BELIEVE:
- All children are capable of learning and should have equal opportunity.
- A positive, safe, orderly environment promotes optimal learning.
- A dynamic environment exists when children, parents, and staff each assume their responsibility in the learning process.
- Schools succeed best when responsibility for learning is a partnership between the parent/school/community/student, and when there is support and accountability of parents/guardians for regular school attendance and appropriate behavior.
- The community and all its resources are available in the education of children.
- By instilling self-esteem, we teach children to value themselves and all others.
- All cultural orientations have value and should be integrated into the educational process.
- Students can develop a responsible role and make a contribution in a democratic society.
- Education is a continuous and lifelong process.
- The instructional program should challenge each child to reach his/her potential.
