Adult Education

Adult Education provides opportunities for students to earn a high school diploma, GED Certificate, improve basic skills, or to learn to read, speak, and write in English. Classes are held at Orchard Center High School and First Baptist Church.

Enrollment is free to any adult Michigan resident, age 20 and over, who has not graduated from high school. Winter Adult Education classes begin late in January.

Adult Education Programming
High School Completion, Adult Basic Education, GED Preparation, and English as a Second Language classes are offered free to adult Michigan residents who are at least age 20 by September 1 of the school year.

High School Completion
High School Completion provides the adult student with the opportunity to earn his/her high school diploma. Credit courses are offered at non-school sites.

English as a Second Language
English as a Second Language (ESL) is offered to the foreign-born adult who needs to learn to speak and read in English. This program is useful to the adult who wishes to become an U.S. citizen. ESL classes are offered at the First Baptist Church Adult Education Center.

GED Preparation
GED Preparation allows an adult student to prepare for the five GED examinations: writing skills, science, social studies, literature, and mathematics. GED Preparation is offered at Orchard Center High School.
